What Is Love Intelligence? How to Stop Earning Love and Start Choosing Yourself with Natasha McCrea
What If the Problem Isn't That You're Giving Too Little?
What if the reason you're exhausted isn't because you're giving too little—but because you're giving too much?
In this week's episode of Carrie On!, I sat down with Natasha McCrea, coach, actress, and creator of the Love Intelligence framework, to talk about self-love, fear, reinvention, and what it means to stop abandoning yourself.
You Don't Give From Your Cup—You Give From the Saucer
One of the most powerful moments of our conversation came when Natasha said:
"You don't give from your cup. You give from the saucer."
Think about that for a moment.
So many women have been taught that love means sacrifice. We take care of our families, our partners, our businesses, our communities—and whatever is left over belongs to us.
The problem? Eventually, there's nothing left.
Natasha believes your cup belongs to you. Your job is to fill it so completely that it overflows. Then you give from the saucer—from abundance, not depletion.
It's a simple shift, but a profound one.
What Is Love Intelligence?
We also talked about the idea of Love Intelligence—the belief that we are all born knowing how to love ourselves, receive love, and advocate for our needs. Over time, life, relationships, expectations, and disappointments can disconnect us from that inner knowing.
But according to Natasha, we don't need to learn it.
We need to remember it.
Fear Isn't the Enemy—Living From Fear Is
Another moment that hit home was when she shared:
"I'm not afraid of anything except being overcome by fear."
Fear is what keeps us playing small. It's what convinces us to stay in relationships, careers, identities, and routines we've already outgrown. It's what whispers that it's too late, we're too much, or we're not enough.
The antidote isn't becoming fearless.
It's choosing yourself anyway.
One small decision at a time.
One boundary at a time.
One honest conversation at a time.
Welcome to Your Queen Era
Natasha calls this our Queen Era—the season of life where we stop performing and start becoming.
Where we stop shrinking.
Where we stop waiting for permission.
Where we finally choose ourselves.
The Question That Changes Everything
So I'll leave you with the same question Natasha asks her clients:
What do you need?
Not what everyone else needs.
Not what your family needs.
Not what your business needs.
What do you need?
The answer might just be the roadmap back to yourself.
